Black Friday SSD Deals, Judged by Price per TB
A real Black Friday SSD deal is a new drive priced below today's typical price per TB for its capacity — not a drive with a big percent-off badge. The list below shows only offers that meet that test, best deal first.
Black Friday SSD shoppers are usually PC builders filling an empty M.2 slot, gamers adding storage to a PC or PS5, or laptop owners replacing a slow drive. The list below covers new internal SSDs of 1TB and up, NVMe and SATA, and shows only offers priced below the typical price per TB for their capacity, ranked by deal score. It refreshes daily, and every price shows when it was captured.
SSD prices move in cycles because they follow NAND flash contract prices, so a Black Friday SSD deal is best judged against what SSDs of the same size cost today, not against a list price or a percent-off badge. Nothing appears on this list unless it beats today's typical price per TB for its size. Still check the drive type before buying — TLC or QLC, NVMe or SATA — because a cheap drive of the wrong type is not a deal.

What to look for
The badge is not the deal; the price per TB is. A seller sets the reference price behind a discount badge, so a big percent-off sticker can sit next to a price that is merely average for the market. The deal score here compares each offer's price per TB with the median for new SSDs of the same capacity in today's snapshot — above 50 means cheaper than typical right now.
Check whether the drive is TLC or QLC, especially at larger sizes where QLC is most common. TLC drives hold their speed through long writes; QLC drives are cheaper per TB, but some slow to about 70 to 100 MB/s once the write cache fills, and they carry lower endurance ratings than the roughly 600 TBW per TB of a mainstream TLC drive. For a game library that is mostly read, QLC can be fine; for heavy writing, pay for TLC.
Match the drive to the slot, not the label. M.2 is a shape, not a speed: an M.2 drive is either SATA or NVMe, and each slot supports one or both, so check your motherboard or laptop first. SATA is capped around 550 to 600 MB/s whatever the box says. DRAM-less NVMe drives cost less, and for booting and gaming the difference is small — a sensible place to save on a sale.
FAQ
Are Black Friday SSD deals worth it?
Some are. Judge each offer by its price per TB against today's typical price for its capacity, not by the discount badge — SSD prices follow NAND flash cycles, so a sale price can still be an ordinary market price. This list shows only below-typical offers, ranked best first.
Is Cyber Monday or Black Friday better for SSD deals?
On Amazon, neither clearly wins, because the events overlap: recent Black Friday events have run about 12 days, starting the week before Thanksgiving and ending on Cyber Monday, with new deals added daily. Judge every Cyber Monday SSD deal the same way — price per TB against today's typical — and buy when a drive you want beats it.
Should I wait for Black Friday to buy an SSD?
If you need the drive now, don't wait — a below-typical offer today is a deal by the same standard. Nobody can promise a sale-day price will be lower, so check the current list, and the "Are SSD prices going up?" article for where the market stands.
What should I check before buying a Black Friday SSD for a PS5?
The PS5 needs a PCIe Gen4 x4 NVMe M.2 drive — M.2 SATA isn't supported — with a heatsink that fits Sony's size limits, and Sony recommends 5,500 MB/s or faster. Capacities from 250 GB to 8 TB work, so a 4TB deal can fit if the interface and heatsink check out.
